Celebrating more than nine decades of American ingenuity, the 2017 Chrysler 300 lineup delivers on the brand’s promise of style, sophistication, world-class quality and technology – all at an attainable value.

As the newest models make their way to dealerships, let’s take a look at some of the latest features.

America’s Big and Bold Sedan
The 2017 Chrysler 300 comes in four different models, all of which are available with the segment’s most advanced all-wheel drive (AWD) system. Customers can choose from the 300 Limited, 300S, 300C or 300C Platinum; and a TorqueFlite eight-speed transmission delivering 30 miles per gallon (mpg) highway fuel economy comes standard on every model.

Each year, the Chrysler brand’s product design office (PDO) team continues to integrate colors and materials that were inspired outside of the automotive industry. Inspiration comes from fashion, architecture and technology, and even the design office’s backyard – the Motor City.

The new exterior color offering for 2017 is Ceramic Gray Clear, providing a “straight shade” hue for a truly avant-garde look. This joins the classic colors available across the Chrysler 300 lineup: Velvet Red Pearl, Bright White Clear, Redline Red Tri-coat Pearl, Gloss Black Clear, Granite Crystal, Metallic Clear, Billet Silver Metallic Clear, Jazz Blue Pearl and Maximum Steel Metallic Clear Coat.

The new interior color for 2017 is an all-new Black with Sydney Gray leather interior; this combination joins the other interior color schemes: Black, Black/Linen, Black/Caramel and Indigo/Linen.

Helping the Chrysler 300S stands out in a league of its own, an updated interior displays new accents and materials as well as heated and ventilated seats.

Now thanks to the new Sport Appearance Packages, the 2017 300S looks even better. This package includes a more aggressive front fascia, unique LED fog lamps, plus sculpted side sills and deck-lid spoiler (included with V-8 engine, available on 300S with V-6 engine) for the exterior. The Interior Sport Appearance Package adds premium perforated leather performance seats with high-bolstered contours in suede and available ventilation (available on all 300S models).

Meanwhile the Alloy Edition Package elevates the 300S model’s Detroit-born style with the brilliance of Dark Bronze accenting its blacked-out exterior; while on the inside it provides Black Nappa leather with exclusive Caramel stitching and Liquid Titanium accents.

“Chrysler brand embodies Detroit style,” says Tim Kuniskis, Head of Passenger Car Brands – Dodge, SRT, Chrysler and FIAT, FCA – North America. “Our new 300S Alloy Editions are a perfect meld of our engineering innovation and craftsmanship, forged with cutting-edge colors and materials inspired by the Motor City’s ingenuity and creativity.”

From 1955 to today, the 300 is one of the nameplates that mark the rich history of the Chrysler brand.

 Did You Know?

  • In 1955, the Chrysler brand introduced a striking automobile which combined smooth styling with brawny HEMI® power—the 300, arguably the first muscle car. The hardtop contained a 300-horsepower HEMI V-8 with solid valve lifters and dual four-barrel carburetors, making it the most powerful full-size car in the world.
  • The new Chrysler 300 would dominate NASCAR racing with the Kiekhaefer Mercury Outboard Racing team and driver Tim Flock; the Kiekhaefer team would go on to win 20 of its 40 NASCAR races.
  • In 1958, a Chrysler 300-D set a land speed record at Bonneville at 156.387 mph.
  • The late 1960s birthed the muscle car era, as well as a redesign of big cars. Full-size cars could get the biggest V-8 to date, a 440-cubic-inch engine, and Chrysler issued the last of its 300 letter series cars, the 300-L in 1965, but production of the non-letter series 300s continued.
  • The 300 sedan is a two-time recipient of Motor Trend’s “Car of the Year” honor.
